Remember to believe in yourself. Feel good for any progress you make. It’s worth it to finally see some light. You can’t take the time you lost in limerence back. But you can be determined to let it go.

Shawn wrote this song about his sometimes overwhelming anxiety he gets with his performances and his fans. Like the saying goes; be kind to people you have no idea the battles they fight from within.

“It’s like the walls are caving it
Sometimes I feel like giving up
But I just can’t
It isn’t in my blood”

Which I did.

I love Dr. Hook!

I saw them in concert at Disney World in 1979.

They have a lot of great stuff. My favorites are:

“When You’re in Love With A Beautiful Woman” (1979)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LatwT5VAN1Q

“A Little Bit More” (1976)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPc7CBuH_dc

and, maybe their most limerence related songs,

“Things I Didn’t Say” (1972)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xblsKp3fzE

“Sharing The Night Together” (1978)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlBRH0m8C78

I also really like Johnny Rivers. I think he’s underrated.

This is one of my favorite songs to dance with her in the kitchen when we’d cook together.

Yes, Adam, since “Momma” is your wife that would be ideal 👌 😀

IMHO

That’s been me that way since as young as I can remember. I think until I hit my teens my folks wondered why I listened to their music rather than choose my own. And my father’s favorite music was The Carpenters. Nothing but sappy love songs. My mother had an Air Supply tape I played a lot. Some of the songs I couldn’t relate to the lyrics but could relate to the relative calmness of the music of those types of songs. Bread/David Gates is another good one.

I try to repurpose these songs and turn them back to my wife. After all 90% of the songs on “that” playlist (which is apply titled Guilty) limerence stole from her anyway. It’s only fitting that she gets them back. And this plays on a mix youtube made me as I type this.

I remember that during breakups I used to have to turn off all pop music because every song was about love/lust/breakups. Nowadays it depends on my mood. During limerence crashes I can very easily start associating certain songs with depression or misery, and have to shut them off. Meanwhile, other songs can get me in an awesome mood that pulls me out of limerence obsession for a while.
